A Cheap Website Needs a Cheap Domain Name and Cheap Hosting

To have a quality website, find a company that will help you with Wordpress installation and sell you a cheap domain name and cheap, but quality hosting.

A quality and valuable website is very affordable can be bought very cheap. This includes WordPress software installation, domain name and hosting, the same tools used to make this this website.  Your message will be shown to everyone on the web. Since the software for the website, WordPress is free, the cost of a website comes right down to having a cheap domain name and cheap hosting. That’s not bad for a fully functional quality website. This website is not restrictive to being a personal site. It can be monetized with affiliate marketing programs on the internet.

A website need not be expensive.
A website need not be expensive.

TMD hosting says a new domain name is free, but of course, it isn’t since you have to buy hosting. The price of the domain name is included in the hosting. But since the hosting is cheap, it might as well be free. Until TMD hosting, either the hosting is not cheap or the domain name is not cheap. If you want to buy them both cheap, you would have to buy them at different places and put them together. TMD Hosting put an end to that. You can get a WordPress website, just like this one, for one low price.

Cheap does not mean low quality. TMD Hosting has unmatched service. Of course, the terms and cost from can change at any time. As of this writing, that is what they are offering, and has done so since I had been associated with them.

When you buy TMD hosting or any hosting, there will be an upsell on hosting extras. If you want privacy, meaning no one will be able to look up who owns the website, that will be a little bit extra. You can get that if you desire privacy, but it is not needed. You will not need any of the other extras. You can always get them later, if you want when you learn what they are. Some of them you can get free. I have not paid for any extras with this website.

What is Search Engine Optimization?

For any business, it is important to study search engine optimization or seo and how does it works. SEO is the art of ranking your website for traffic.

The term search engine optimization, or SEO, has become an integral aspect of businesses across the globe. From SEO in Kuwait to SEO in the United States, business owners and marketers for business are becoming in tune with the concepts and vast importance of search engine optimization. But what is search engine optimization, how does it work, and what benefits does it have for businesses and organizations? These are questions that every business owner or manager should know the answer to if the hope to have continued success in the future.

If you have a website, you must learn SEO

Simply put, search engine optimization or SEO work is the work that goes into ranking a website on one of the main search engines of the internet. Search engines like Google or Bing function by indexing all of the websites on the internet and pulling those sites into pools of results when a user enters a search term or key word. In this way, the massive indexing search engines of the internet allow their users to find websites that will help the user find answers to their queries. By ranking well on these search engine queries for specific keywords, a business or organization will be able to garner page visits to their web services by potential consumers of their products.

For example, if a business is in the market of selling books both in a brick and mortar store and online, then that business will want to rank well on search engines for key words such as “books for sale” or “online bookstore” or “bookstore in (the name of the local town or city where the bookstore has its physical location” and other similar search key words. Once they can be found online by potential consumers who enter these and other similar key words into their search engines at home, then the bookstore will be able to drive more traffic to their site and garner more sales both from their online store and physical store.

But before this is possible, the bookstore will have to reach a ranking high enough on the common search engines in order to receive that kind of traffic to their site. Building the sites ranking on specific key words is the essential function of SEO and across the globe. SEO of a site can be built through various ways such as the formation and creation of quality content to the site, the overall design and functionality of the site, and other such on site modifications. But off site SEO work, or link building, is likewise vital to the success of a company reaching the rankings that they desire on search engines.

The business world has fundamentally changed with the adaptation and worldwide acclimation to the use of the internet; and with this increasing dependency on the internet by consumers across the globe, how a business chooses to use the internet to market their products or services is becoming a vital step down the road of success. Through networks, such as affiliate marketing programs, a business can involve many marketers into selling their products. Marketers who have websites, but no products, can sell these products. By building links to other websites, a business can drive more traffic to their own website by making their webpage relevant to the online community.

Getting a Free Domain Name with Hosting

To run a website, you need a domain name and hosting. Getting a free domain name registration with hosting is convenient and many times, cost effective.

I haven’t heard of a free domain name with the purchase of website hosting until ran into TMD Hosting. However, their site does say, “Today’s Special.” That usually means it is there for a limited time only. You risk not getting the special if you wait after today.  I talked to one of their sales representatives and he said that special has been there for a while now and it will probably remain for a while more.

When you get a blog, it’s best to buy a domain name free with hosting.

When I buy hosting, I look at the price and the support. I now get 24/7/365 from Hostgator. TMD hosting also has 24/7/365 hosting.  That is probably a standard with any hosting, but I would still check. I would hate to have somebody not answer a hosting question when I need it. When I have a website problem, I usually want it fixed right away because my readers will not wait.

I shopped around for the cheapest with reasonable support when I started my site a few years ago. I now have a routine of using GoDaddy and Hostgator. Once a year, I get a bill from GoDaddy to renew my domain name. At $15, it isn’t that much. Furthermore, they usually give you coupons which is good for a few dollars. I usually pay just a little more than $10. Creating a website from scratch, the routine is the same, with the same price. Hostgator does sell domain names for about $15 each for dot com, without the discounts.

If I had to start over, I would choose TMD hosting. It is cheaper hosting than most, has a 24/7/365 support, and they give a free domain name, at least for now. It will at least save me some money and the trouble of connecting the domain name with the hosting. They will even put up the WordPress site for me.

When Buying Domain Names and Building a Website, Choose the Cheapest

The best domain registrar is the cheapest. With certain exceptions, many hosting companies offer free new domain registration with a purchase of hosting.

Buying the cheapest domain name you can buy is one of the smartest moves you can make, once you have decided on building a website. It is the same domain name no matter where or who  you buy it from. GoDaddy is the cheapest is the biggest company, but if you buy it from them or anywhere else, it is the same name.  Name Cheap and IDotz.net are cheaper if they are having a special. A better deal still is when a hosting firm will offer you a free domain name when you buy hosting as TMD Hosting is currently doing. Hosting and a domain name is all you have to buy for a WordPress website. When you have WordPress, a website software used by 60 million sites (including this site), you will have an affordable and quality website.

web page domain name
A unique domain name that finds your site need not be expensive.

Domain names are classified by its extensions when you are looking at price. Look for cheapest one of a particular extension. Check the price from a number of domain name vendors. Name extensions like .com is usually the most expensive, followed by.org, .net, .info and .me and so forth. Reports say that the Google prefers the old extensions, .com, .org, and .net. But exact names are also important for SEO. Those names are usually taken on the old domain extensions.

Of course, premium domain names do not count on your list of cheap domain names. Buying those names cheap is still one of the best moves. Then, you can sell it high. GoDaddy has a sell a domain name section, or you can set up a one page website and put on the site that the name is for sale.

But, what is a domain name without a website? Hosting companies such as iPage, TMD Hosting and FatCow give a new free domain name with the purchase of hosting. If you are going to buy hosting anyway, buying it with a domain name will give you the best deal for your money.

Guest Posting at BenBaligad.com Gets Hit by Panda Update

Google de-listed benbaligad.com, probably because of excessive 404 errors. The panda has been a symbol of Google, penalizing for unfair manipulation of SEO.

by Ben Baligad – benbaligad.com which has been a guest posting site has been deleted. All of its content from the guest posts have been transferred to a new site, articles for small business.com. The biggest reason for this is, benbaligad.com was probably hit by Google’s Panda Update.

Google's Panda Update with panda pictured
Google’s Panda update is looking for websites who has poor quality content.

Google does not say exactly why they would take anyone’s site off its search engine. After trying many things, I have come to the conclusion that it is excessive 404 errors. I must give josh bachynski credit. Unlike others who made up their own Panda list, he stalked Google employees, former employees and Google spokesmen to make his list.  On his list were duplicates and too many 404 errors. I have already dealt with duplicate posts that were submitted, but I have never bothered to look at my 404 errors because Google says in Google Webmaster Tools that:

Generally, 404 errors don’t impact your site’s ranking in Google, and you can safely ignore them.  – Google Webmaster Tools

Panda is a way for Google change the way the game is played in the middle of the game. Google can do that. They hold all the cards. I don’t blame Google. Webmasters have found ways to go around Google’s ways with their web sites. With Panda, what were once acceptable practices became questionable or downright violations.

Examples are link schemes. We are warned by Google against link schemes. For many years, a guest post was one of the best links you can do to your blogs. Now, according to Google’s Matt Cutts, and other Google spokesmen,  guest post links should be nofollowed because they are no longer as trusted as they used to be. Because of that,  guest post links on Articles for Small Business.com are now nofollowed.

I have done many things to benbaligad.com to make it Google compliant.  My biggest issue was duplicates. I deleted hundreds of guest posts because whomever sent them to me also had them published elsewhere. After I deleted them, Google still would not reinstate. I did a few other things, including unpublishing hundreds of articles and deleting the images associated with them because images are separate files with their own url.  It came down to only 25 articles and one ad, which was Google Adsense on the front page. There was nothing else that could confuse the reader, in my opinion. Still, Google had an issue and would not reinstate.

Since I have probably done most everything else, Josh Bachynski’s item on too many 404 errors made sense.  404 errors are created when someone links to you and the page does not exist. Google uses those links to find your site and other sites. Before I deleted the site, benbaligad.com has about 3,600 404 errors.  They would have had to be dealt with individually, if I was to keep the site and have it in good standing. Since I can only fix a few dozen a day, I decided to delete the site and concentrate on the new site.

The new site, articles for small business.com has no issues, at least so far. Many have submitted great articles. I thank those who submitted them. Then, there are the others. For the sake of the great articles, I have set up the other site. As of now, I have hundreds of articles unpublished. I will proof read them before I republish them, if I do.  If you have an article written with benbaligad.com and you can find want to know its status, and is unable to find it, please email me. I apologize for any inconvenience.
