However, for constant pain, Ibuprofen or Naproxen works best. The best pain reliever for arthritis on your hands is Ibuprofen. Ibuprofen is often given first, especially if the pain is not severe. If the pain is severe, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are given.
